The St. Paul’s community came out in numbers over the weekend as the St. Paul’s Health Month continued with a two-day Health Fair held on Saturday, October 26, and Sunday, October 27, 2025, at the newly opened Cobbs Cross Community Health Clinic.
The event, organized by Member of Parliament for St. Paul’s, the Hon. E.P. Chet Greene, ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day and offered free medical check-ups and wellness screenings for residents of all ages. Attendees were able to access services including blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, and body mass index (BMI) checks, along with prostate, breast, glucose, eye, and general health screenings.
The Health Fair formed part of the month-long observance of St. Paul’s Health Month under the theme “Healthy Lifestyle … The Power of Personal Control.” The initiative encourages residents to take charge of their health through regular check-ups, healthier habits, and greater awareness of the factors that influence long-term well-being.
Dr. Jerry Simon, one of the lead organizers and medical professionals on site, highlighted the value of the initiative for the St. Paul’s community. “The Health Fair gives people an opportunity to access important medical screenings that they might otherwise postpone,” Dr. Simon said.
“By bringing healthcare directly into the community, we’re helping individuals take control of their health and, in many cases, detect issues early before they become serious.”
Many residents welcomed the convenience and community spirit of the event. A Liberta resident said, “It’s great to have this kind of service right here at home. I was able to check my blood pressure and glucose levels without having to go into town, and the nurses were so kind and helpful.”
Similarly, a of Cobbs Cross praised the outreach effort. “This health fair shows that the community’s well-being really matters. It’s a reminder that prevention is better than cure, and I’m grateful that we now have a clinic serving us right here,” he shared.
Hon. E.P. Chet Greene expressed his satisfaction with both the turnout and the ongoing development of healthcare infrastructure in the constituency. “The new Cobbs Cross Clinic and the Liberta Clinic are critical investments in the health of our people,” Greene said. “They ensure that residents of St. Paul’s have easier access to essential medical services and can benefit from initiatives like this Health Fair that promote wellness and prevention.”
As Health Month continues, residents are encouraged to stay informed and take advantage of upcoming activities. The public can tune in to WTP 93.5 FM and follow updates in the St. Paul’s Weekly for more information on events and health resources available throughout the month.
