St. Paul’s Seniors Treated to Day of Fun, Culture and Celebrity Encounters

The seniors of St. Paul’s enjoyed a day filled with adventure, entertainment and warm camaraderie during the annual St. Paul’s Senior Excursion, hosted by MP, Hon. E.P. Chet Greene, on Wednesday, July 31, 2025.

The event began at the St. Paul’s Empowerment Centre, where seniors gathered before embarking on a scenic tour that included stops at the Shooting Range at Pot Works and Camp Blizzard. The day’s activities concluded at Runaway Beach, Pleasure Cove, where attendees were treated to a lively mix of food, music and games along the shore.

Adding to the excitement, the seniors were joined by some of Antigua and Barbuda’s most celebrated figures. Cricket legends Sir Vivian Richards and Sir Curtly Ambrose mingled with guests, sharing stories and posing for photos, while Calypso icon Sir Paul “King Obstinate” Richards entertained with his signature charm.

MP Greene described the annual excursion as one of the most treasured events on the St. Paul’s community calendar. “This is about honouring those who have given so much to build our community and country,” he said. “Our seniors are the foundation on which we stand, and it is a privilege to celebrate them in this way.”

Participants expressed gratitude to MP Greene for organizing the outing, describing it as a joyful and memorable experience. Many said they were already looking forward to next year’s excursion.

The St. Paul’s Senior Excursion continues to stand as a testament to community spirit, offering not only entertainment but also recognition for the enduring contributions of the constituency’s elder generation.
