One of the clearest examples is unfolding right now during the internationally celebrated Antigua Sailing Week 2025, which officially launched on Saturday, April 26 and is set to conclude with the vibrant Dockyard Day on Saturday, May 3.
The regatta isn’t just about exhilarating races and festive shoreside activities; it is a rallying point for ocean and environmental stewardship. Thanks to the unwavering support of the Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) of Antigua and Barbuda, the event’s Green Team, led by local non-profit Good Humans 268, is making a bold environmental statement through comprehensive waste management, recycling initiatives, and public education.
“On this Earth Day, we’re thrilled to spotlight the Citizenship by Investment – Antigua & Barbuda (CIU) of Antigua and Barbuda, returning as a key sustainability sponsor for Antigua Sailing Week 2025,” organizers said. “Their support empowers our Green Team, led by local non-profit Good Humans 268, to champion eco-friendly practices—from waste reduction and recycling to community beach clean-ups—ensuring our regatta remains a model of environmental stewardship. Together, we’re sailing toward a greener future!”
The Green Team is working not only locally but globally, partnering with Sailors for the Sea, a leading ocean conservation organization dedicated to promoting sustainable boating and clean oceans. Their collective efforts are creating a regatta that is as environmentally conscious as it is exhilarating.
